On the 27th, at Baegun Art Hall, enthusiastic response from staff families attending performances over three sessions
Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Lee Dong-ryeol) celebrated Family Month and Children's Day in May by performing the nationally popular children's musical "Al Satang" for employees' families and children at Baegun Art Hall in Geumho-dong, Gwangyang City on the 27th.
The children's musical "Al Satang" is based on the bestselling picture book "Al Satang" by author Baek Hee-na. It was a hit production that attracted the largest audience for children's musicals nationwide in 2021 and 2022.
To celebrate Children's Day on May 5th, Gwangyang Steelworks planned this musical event so that employees and their families could create happy memories with their children.
Baegun Art Hall held three performances of "Al Satang" in one day on the 27th, attracting about 1,800 viewers and receiving great responses from employees and their families.
"Al Satang" tells the story of little Dongdong, who, after eating an Al Satang candy, gains the ability to hear the inner thoughts of objects and people.
By transforming the voices of the heart that Dongdong hears after eating the Al Satang candy into music, the musical stimulates children's curiosity and imagination. With unique characters, witty humor, and touching emotions, it delivers lessons about family love and understanding others not only to children but also to parents.
Additionally, the lobby of Baegun Art Hall was themed as the "Mysterious Stationery Store," the setting of "Al Satang," creating an experiential space that offered enjoyable memories for children attending the musical.
Here, children experienced various toys and stationery featured in the musical's setting and took photos with their families at the photo zone, capturing the day's memories in a single picture.
An employee family who watched the musical said, "It was wonderful to comfortably watch a nationally famous children's musical in our neighborhood with our child," and expressed gratitude to Gwangyang Steelworks for continuously increasing opportunities to enjoy cultural life with families.
Meanwhile, since its opening in 1992, Baegun Art Hall has provided various cultural and artistic performances such as concerts, plays, magic shows, and musicals to the local community. In January, it completed a venue improvement project, replacing outdated lighting and sound systems with the latest equipment, installing LED moving lights, a cinema surround speaker system, and a 4K ultra-high-definition projector meeting global cinema standards, enabling it to offer high-quality cultural events to citizens.
