Goheung-gun Targets Chinese Market with Korea-China Mixed Agricultural and Marine Products Development

Cooperation with Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research Institute

Joint Development Agreement for Goheung Yuja Processed Products

On the 29th, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it signed a business agreement for the development of Korea-China agricultural and marine products cooperation products and the pioneering of new markets, with the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services (Director Park Hong-jae) and local export company Enzyme Farm (CEO Kim Ju-ho) attending at the Palyongsan Hall of the county office.


This business agreement was made to establish a cooperative system between Goheung-gun and the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services for the joint development of Goheung Yuja processed products and the pioneering of the Chinese export market.

To diversify Yuja processed products, which have been concentrated on Yuja syrup and juice, and to target the global food ingredient market through the development of new export products, the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services will support research, demonstration, and technology, while Goheung-gun plans to support production, sales, securing distribution channels, and marketing of the developed Yuja processed products.


Governor Gong Young-min said, “For Goheung agricultural and marine products to enter the global market, it is necessary to develop and sell customized products that suit local tastes to be competitive in the market,” and added, “We will do our best to pioneer new markets and support the development of new export products to expand exports of Goheung agricultural and marine products.”


Meanwhile, in September last year, Goheung-gun signed export agreements worth a total of 15 million dollars for Goheung agricultural and marine products in Weihai and Wenzhou, China, and also signed a business agreement with the Qingdao Marine Food Nutrition Innovation Research Institute for development for the Chinese market using Goheung agricultural and marine products, leading to smooth progress in exports to China.
