Female Professors Pool Funds to Award Two Female Students Each Semester

Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced on the 29th that the Female Professors' Association (President Seo Chu-yeon, Professor of Fashion Design) held the '2024 Spring Semester Scholarship Award Ceremony.'

Established in 2006, the Dong-A University Female Professors' Association has been awarding scholarships to two female students each semester, funded by Honorary Professor Hwang Ki-a's initial donation of 20 million KRW and additional contributions from current female professors.

The scholarship award ceremony, held on the 26th in the seminar room on the 7th floor of the College of Humanities and Sciences at Dong-A University's Seunghak Campus, was attended by President Seo, Professors Seo Geum-hong (Department of Architecture), Ahn Young-hee (Department of Environmental and Energy Engineering), Lee Myung-jin (Department of Music), Kim Do-kyung (Pre-Medicine), Kwak Eun-hee (College of Liberal Arts), Joo Na-an (Department of Fashion Design), and the scholarship recipients.

On that day, students Kim Hanna (3rd year, Department of Physical Education) and Yoon Jisoo (3rd year, Department of Nursing) each received scholarships of 1 million KRW.

President Seo said, “This scholarship, prepared directly by female professors to help female students proactively plan their futures, is especially meaningful. I hope it serves as an opportunity for the scholarship recipients to develop their capabilities as talents needed by society.”

Kim Hanna, a scholarship recipient, said, “I am truly happy to receive a scholarship I never expected. I will study even harder to achieve my goal of becoming a physical education teacher.”

Yoon Jisoo said, “As a third-year student balancing classes and practical training, it has been physically demanding, but receiving this scholarship feels like a new turning point. I will take pride in my studies and strive to become a student who brings honor to the university.”
