Gwangju Buk-gu Hosts 'Elderly Filial Piety Concert' for Family Month

The Gwangju Senior Filial Piety Concert is an event organized by Buk-gu in cooperation with the Korea Sharing Federation since last year to provide cultural performance opportunities to culturally marginalized elderly people, conveying respect to seniors during Family Month and revitalizing their daily lives.

Hosted by Buk-gu and organized by the Korea Sharing Federation, this year's concert will invite about 1,000 elderly residents from Buk-gu, including recipients of basic livelihood security and near-poverty elderly, seniors using senior centers and welfare centers, and veterans' organization members. The lively performances, including trot singing, magic shows, Pumba (traditional Korean comedic performance), Korean traditional music, and instrumental performances, will continue until 6 p.m.

Additionally, local private organizations such as the "Regional Autonomous Disaster Prevention Team" and the "Volunteer Fire Brigade" from Buk-gu will participate to support smooth event operations and safety management.

Entry to the venue will be allowed from 2 p.m. on the day of the event after verifying invitation tickets. For details about ticket distribution and other information regarding the concert, please contact the Welfare Policy Division of Buk-gu Office.

Ahn Cheon-woong, Secretary General of the Korea Sharing Federation, said, "Following last year, we are very honored to prepare a meaningful event for local seniors together with Buk-gu again this year," adding, "We will do our best to prepare the event so that the concert becomes a joyful and precious memory for the elderly."

Moon In, Mayor of Buk-gu, expressed gratitude, saying, "I would like to thank the Korea Sharing Federation and various private organizations who united in support for this concert," and added, "We will continue to strengthen private cooperation networking to build a warm local care system for seniors, who are a strong pillar of the community, with respect and gratitude."
