Gyeongsangnam-do, Changwon Special City, and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation jointly held the 50th anniversary event commemorating the designation of the Changwon National Industrial Complex, which successfully concluded with a large-scale citizen event at Changwon Square.

The large-scale event held on the 27th at Changwon Square featured cultural experience booths with various contents such as face painting and a webtoon experience center, allowing families and citizens to enjoy together.
In particular, the ‘Changwon National Industrial Complex Exhibition Hall,’ where visitors could learn about the past history of the Changwon National Industrial Complex, and the ‘Corporate Hall of Fame Exhibition Hall,’ displaying plaques of past top executives and worker awardees, were operated to help citizens reflect on the significance of Changwon National Industrial Complex and take pride in it. Some awardees visited with their families and were moved as they checked their plaques.
The subsequent congratulatory concert, attended by over 5,000 citizens, began with a performance by the Changwon Workers’ Choir, followed by appearances from popular singers such as Taei, Park Jung-hyun, Jang Min-ho, and Kim Yeon-ja, heating up Changwon Square.
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “The great past 50 years of the Changwon National Industrial Complex have been with entrepreneurs, workers, and citizens. As one of the members, I sincerely thank everyone and feel proud,” adding, “We will push for a major transformation into the ‘Changwon Industrial Innovation Park’ to lead Korea’s next 50 years toward becoming the world’s best manufacturing city.”
After the concert, a drone show featuring about 500 drones appeared over the city hall, themed “50 Years of Leap Achieved Together, 50 Years of Future Opened Together.”
Finally, for five minutes, over 3,200 fireworks decorated the night sky over Changwon Square, gifting citizens unforgettable memories and deep emotions.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo attended the commemorative ceremony of this event, and a calligraphy stone inscribed by President Yoon Seok-youl titled “Cradle of Industrial Power, Changwon National Industrial Complex” was installed, marking a moment to reaffirm the status and role of Changwon National Industrial Complex with strong government interest and support.
