Controversy Dismissed Over Allegations of Cho Kuk Drinking Premium Liquor
Jeon Yeo-ok Urges to "Stop Pretending"
Jo Guk, leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, and Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, faced allegations of drinking premium liquor at a dinner, but Jo directly dismissed the controversy by stating, "We drank Yantai Gaoliang liquor." However, former Saenuri Party (predecessor of the People Power Party) lawmaker Jeon Yeo-ok still sharpened her criticism, demanding the receipt's disclosure, saying, "Stop pretending and covering up. It's disgusting."

On the 28th, former lawmaker Jeon posted under the title "Leader Jo Guk, upload the receipt from that day," pointing out, "Leader Jo said he drank 'Yantai Gaoliang liquor, not expensive Gaoliang liquor.' But even Yantai Gaoliang liquor can be quite pricey if consumed at places like M restaurant," criticizing it as a "double standard (romance if I do it, affair if others do it) show."
She added, "I know Leader Jo is petty, but is it okay just because 'Gaoliang liquor' means 'Yantai Gaoliang liquor'? If it were me, I would have promptly uploaded the receipt," and questioned, "You even posted a photo of Jo Cheol-bong on SNS, so why can't you post the bill photo at times like this?" She demanded, "Lee Jae-myung paid? I don't know. But it must have been paid with the Democratic Party leader's office corporate card, so the record is 100% kept," and urged, "Get it via KakaoTalk and upload the receipt showing how much was drunk and eaten that day."

She also argued that Lee's actions undermine credibility. "He said he ate 'samgyeopsal' in Gyeyang, but wasn't there 'Hanwoo beef' right there on the grill? The media wrote articles because of his past records and history. Stop pretending and covering up. It's disgusting," she pointed out.
On the 25th, Lee and Jo drank two bottles of Gaoliang liquor and talked for about two and a half hours about current politics. When speculation about the liquor they drank poured in, Jo posted on Facebook, "It seems some people are guessing and mocking that we drank the highest-grade Gaoliang liquor," and rebutted, "We drank Yantai Gaoliang liquor."
