It is reported that Prosecutor A fled to avoid the police's DUI checkpoint. Two days before refusing the breathalyzer test, he was caught driving under the influence.

Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok ordered the Supreme Prosecutors' Office's Inspection Department to immediately begin an investigation, rather than the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office or the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office. The Inspection Department started the investigation on the same day. Additionally, Prosecutor General Lee requested the Ministry of Justice to immediately suspend Prosecutor A from duty.

A representative from the Supreme Prosecutors' Office stated, "The Inspection Department has promptly initiated the investigation," and added, "We will proceed swiftly and strictly with the inspection."
