Education Facilities Including Survival Swimming... Namwon Geojum Sports Club Entrusted Operation
Namwon Education and Culture Center (Director Park Su-jin) announced on the 26th that it held an opening ceremony at the outdoor stage in front of the main building after completing major repairs on the swimming pool.
According to the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, the swimming pool underwent renovations last year with an investment of about 4 billion KRW, lowering the water depth from 1.3m to 1.2m to ensure the safety of students and local residents. A heated pool and safety education room were installed, and an integrated management system was established to create a safe and comfortable educational environment.

To revitalize the swimming pool and secure the professionalism of educational programs, Namwon Base Sports Club was selected as the trustee through a public contest. Weekday mornings are reserved for student survival swimming classes, and the pool's opening hours have been extended through Sunday. The daily number of users reaches about 470, establishing it as a local attraction.
Director Park Su-jin stated, "The safety of students' educational activities is a priority, and we will do our best to improve the quality of life for local residents as well."
Superintendent Seo Geo-seok said, "For diverse student-centered experiences and practical education, social and educational infrastructure is essential, and survival swimming in the curriculum requires a swimming pool as an indispensable educational facility," adding, "I hope the opening of the swimming pool will further contribute to the healthy and vibrant lives of students and local residents."
