Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken, who is visiting China, on the 26th (local time), according to AFP reports citing officials. Wang Xiaohong, Minister of Public Security of China, announced that President Xi and Secretary Blinken are scheduled to hold a meeting that day, which was also confirmed by a U.S. State Department official.

Earlier, during a meeting in Beijing with Wang Yi, Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of the Chinese Communist Party (also serving as Foreign Minister), Secretary Blinken expressed concerns about China’s support for Russia, according to a U.S. official.

The U.S. State Department stated that Secretary Blinken and Director Wang also discussed the need to prevent further escalation of tensions in the Middle East and the Korean Peninsula, and expressed concerns about China’s support for Russia’s defense industry base, along with issues related to Taiwan, the South China Sea, and the Middle East.
