As the recent craze for walking and running continues, unique walking and running events are being held one after another. People flock to participate in special events, causing websites to crash and tickets to sell out in just about a minute, gaining popularity and attention.

Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, held the 'Slow Walking Festival' on Cheongsando Island from the 6th to the 21st, featuring the unique walking event 'Slow Color Run.' Participants walked and ran while being covered with eco-friendly color powder, dyeing their white T-shirts. Along with this, events such as the 'Cheongsan Complete Walk Stamp' where participants walked the slow road course and collected stamps, and the 'Plogging Challenge' where participants picked up trash in eco-friendly bags while walking, were also held. A Wando-gun official said, "The diverse events held alongside walking exercises were very popular," adding, "During the festival period, about 33,000 tourists visited."

Goesan-gun, Chungbuk, will hold the 'Red Flavor Color Run' on the 25th of next month, where participants can cover their bodies with colored corn powder and run. This is part of the '2024 Goesan Red Flavor Festival' schedule, which will also feature various events such as the National Red Dance Contest, Spicy Food Fighter Competition, and Red Flavor Cheerleader Contest.

The health running event in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, famous for the 'Bossam Run,' experienced a rush of applications. With a participation fee of 10,000 won, participants can enjoy souvenirs, boiled pork, and Makgeolli, which spread by word of mouth, causing the website server to crash on the 17th. The event will be held on the 26th of next month, offering 5 km and 10 km courses, and various foods including boiled pork will be provided even if participants do not complete the course.

Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, will hold the 'Shopping Open Run' marathon in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on June 9th. Participants fill their shopping baskets with desired items from over 60,000 products and complete a 5 km run. Those who finish the run get to keep all the items in their shopping baskets.

Dong-gu, Ulsan, is promoting the 'Sound Walking' project, which allows people to explore tourist sites on foot while listening to the sounds of nature. Sound Walking involves walking outdoors while listening to natural sounds through headsets and microphones, aiming for healing in nature and the restoration of ecological sensitivity.
