Professor Miok Lee of Seoul National University College of Pharmacy Awarded the Order of Science and Technology Innovation Medal

Recognition for Contributions in Discovering Therapeutic Targets for Chronic Human Diseases

Seoul National University announced that Professor Imiok was awarded the Order of Science and Technology Innovation Medal in recognition of her contributions to the promotion of science and technology at the '2024 Science and Technology and Information and Communication Day Ceremony' held on the 22nd.

The Ministry of Science and ICT has been selecting and awarding individuals who have contributed to the promotion of science and technology every year on Science Day (April 21) since 1975 to enhance the pride and honor of scientists and engineers.

Professor Imiok, a researcher in the field of molecular pharmacology, has published over 150 papers on discovering therapeutic targets for chronic human diseases and researching new drug candidates. She was also recognized for her contributions to the development of foundational new drug technologies through industry-academia cooperation and technology exchange, advancing the field of pharmacy.

Additionally, she was acknowledged for activating convergence research as the director of the Basic Medical Science Research Center (Center for Bio-lipid Interactomics), promoting international exchange in advanced pharmacy fields through academic society activities, and contributing to the utilization of female talent in the science and technology sector.

Currently serving as the president of the Korean Pharmaceutical Society, Professor Imiok is dedicated to promoting advanced bio-pharmaceutical convergence research and building a future-oriented pharmaceutical network.
