Lee Jun-seok: "Lee Jae-myung, Even Meeting the President with Everything Set Aside Doesn't Work"

Lee Jun-seok, leader of the Reform New Party, said on the 26th that regarding Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, announcing that he would meet President Yoon Seok-yeol regardless of the agenda, "I have met President Yoon several times in that manner, but meeting like that does not lead to results."

After the party's Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Lee told reporters, "The summit meeting, which should serve as leverage for the special prosecutor law on the alleged external pressure in the death case of Marine Chae Sang-byeong (Chae Sang-byeong Special Prosecutor Law), is drifting toward a mood of meeting first without properly setting the agenda."

Earlier, at the Democratic Party's Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Lee Jae-myung said, "Since it is a summit meeting held after a long time, the agenda should be organized and prior coordination should be done, but even that seems difficult," adding, "I will put everything aside and meet President Yoon first."

Lee Jun-seok said, "I also met like that during the Ulsan meeting, and Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, said, 'What’s important about a piece of paper? Trust me and let's try,' but it was a struggle," emphasizing, "When having any consultation or dialogue with President Yoon, the agenda must be clearly set beforehand."

He added, "There are concerns within the broad opposition camp about the lack of enthusiasm regarding the summit meeting and the Chae Sang-byeong special prosecutor," and "If the Chae Sang-byeong special prosecutor issue is not promptly addressed, there is a significant concern about the destruction of evidence by the parties involved."
