Release in the Second Half of This Year... LG Chem's Eco-Friendly Warranty Mark 'LETZero' Attached
LG Chem has partnered with the Japanese sports brand 'Descente' to apply eco-friendly materials to shoes launching in the Chinese market in the second half of this year.
On the 26th, LG Chem announced that it signed a joint marketing business agreement for an eco-friendly brand with Descente China at the ChinaPlas event in Shanghai, China.
LG Chem will supply eco-friendly BCB (Bio-Circular Balanced) POE (polyolefin elastomer), EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), and rubber products, which Descente will apply to shoe insoles.
The raw materials for BCB products are pyrolysis oil made by recycling waste cooking oil or waste plastics. POE and EVA are highly elastic products resistant to impact, mainly used in shoes and life jackets.

Descente plans to launch shoes using LG Chem's eco-friendly materials in China in the second half of the year and will attach the eco-friendly certification mark 'LETZero' label to the shoes for sale.
'LETZero' is an eco-friendly brand launched by LG Chem in 2021. It strictly reviews products that meet eco-friendly standards and provides this certification mark to customers. LETZero is a combination of 'Let' and 'Zero (0)'.
Noh Guk-rae, head of LG Chem's Petrochemical Business Division, said, "We will lead the eco-friendly materials sector in the global market according to customer needs."
LG Chem has obtained the global eco-friendly material certification 'ISCC PLUS' for 58 products. ISCC PLUS complies with the European Union (EU) Renewable Energy Directive.
LG Chem also provides certifications such as UL ECV (Environmental Claim Validation), TUV (German Technical Inspection Association), and GRS (Global Recycled Standard eco-friendly certification mark) upon customer request.
