"Delivering Safety"... Geumcheon-gu Campaign to Foster a Safe Delivery Culture

Delivery Platform Workers Promising Safe Delivery Receive Geumcheon G-Valley Love Gift Certificates

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced on the 25th that it conducted a street campaign at Siheung Intersection targeting delivery platform workers to promote a safe delivery culture.

In 2023, Geumcheon-gu was selected as the first support organization in Seoul for the "Platform Workers' Workplace Improvement Support Project" led by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The district signed a business agreement with Geumcheon Police Station and the Delivery Platform Labor Union to promote the "Safe Delivery Campaign" and the "Support for Safety Equipment Purchase" project.

This year, the district was again selected as a support organization and carried out a campaign, following last year, in which delivery workers pledged to practice safe delivery to prevent the increasing number of two-wheeled vehicle accidents and foster a safe delivery culture.

Together with Geumcheon Police Station and the Western Branch of the Delivery Platform Labor Union, the campaign conveyed safe driving rules such as wearing helmets, obeying traffic laws, keeping eyes on the road while driving, and maintaining a safe distance through banners and placards.

Additionally, safety delivery pledge stickers for participating in the campaign event and promotional materials containing future project details for platform workers were distributed.

The district is also holding an event until May 10th, where the first 30 people who submit a certification photo showing the safety delivery pledge sticker attached to their delivery box along with a pledge to practice safe delivery will receive a Geumcheon G-Valley Love Gift Certificate worth 10,000 KRW.

Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "As delivery demand increases, the risk of traffic accidents for delivery workers is also rising," and added, "We hope that this campaign will help prevent traffic accidents and foster a safe delivery culture."
