Jangseong Branch of Korea Rural Community Corporation (Branch Manager Kim Jae-jin) announced on the 25th that it held a field briefing on water management and safety training for irrigation facility monitors.
About 120 people attended the briefing, including Kim Han-jong, Jangseong County Governor, Ko Jae-jin, Chairman of Jangseong County Council, and operating representatives.
Starting with the branch's major status and irrigation facility safety education, the program continued with watching a promotional video on water conservation, promoting the Farmland Bank project, and training on the use of weather information.
Irrigation facility monitors were urged to always prioritize safety and to manage waterways thoroughly to ensure there is no disruption in water supply to the terminal sections.
The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration conducted training on utilizing weather information, including checking weather information via web and mobile, and emergency disaster text alerts for heavy rain.
Kim Han-jong, Jangseong County Governor, expressed gratitude to the Korea Rural Community Corporation for their dedication to their primary task of supplying agricultural water and encouraged the employees' hard work.
He added, "We will strive for win-win cooperation by securing additional budgets when necessary for facility repairs such as dredging and installation of simple pumping stations, and expanding support to the Korea Rural Community Corporation."
Branch Manager Kim Jae-jin emphasized, "Last year, we wisely overcame many difficulties caused by extreme drought and heavy rain, and this year the current reservoir rate is maintaining an average of 80%, so there will be no disruption in this farming water supply. The communication system among the Korea Rural Community Corporation, Jangseong County officials, and local residents must be systematically established to prevent damage from disasters."
