Gangnam-gu and Gangnam-gu Yak Association Collaborate to Identify Welfare Blind Spots Together

Gangnam-gu District Office (Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) signed an agreement on the 25th with the Gangnam-gu Pharmacists Association (President Lee Byung-do) to establish a social safety net for identifying and supporting welfare blind spots.

As the number of socially isolated households, such as single-person households, increases, the district is collaborating with various private organizations to identify vulnerable households that fall outside the existing detection system for new blind spot issues.

Through this agreement, the district plans to strengthen the welfare safety net by utilizing the infrastructure of the Gangnam-gu Pharmacists Association, the largest among pharmacist associations. Through 432 pharmacies affiliated with the association, they will jointly work on ▲ promoting the identification of welfare blind spots using prescription medicine bags ▲ providing medication guidance to prevent drug misuse among low-income groups ▲ supporting donations for low-income households to help resolve welfare blind spots.

Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “We plan to ensure that people isolated due to sudden poverty, unemployment, or illness can receive help when they visit pharmacies,” and added, “This summer and winter, we will conduct planned investigations with the private sector to identify welfare blind spots more thoroughly in every corner.”
