A man in his 20s who wielded a weapon at his family while intoxicated was caught in the act and arrested.
The Gwangju Nambu Police Station announced on the 25th that they have apprehended and are investigating a man in his 20s, identified as A, on suspicion of aggravated assault.
A is accused of injuring his younger sister by wielding a weapon at his home in Songha-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 2:20 a.m. that day. At the time, A's mother was also in the main room, and it is understood that the younger sister injured her hand while trying to stop A from attacking their mother.
According to the police investigation, A, who frequently drank alcohol at home, committed the crime in a state of heavy intoxication during an argument with his family, who often scolded him for his frequent drinking.
Police, who responded to a call from the mother, arrested A at the scene without much resistance.
