On the 25th, at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Beijing Motor Show) held at the Beijing International Exhibition Center Shunyi Hall in China, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun showcased the company's first electric vehicle SU7 (Suchi) at their booth and made a joke, drawing cheers from the audience. Xiaomi's exhibition booth, debuting as an electric vehicle brand at an international motor show for the first time, was packed with media and Xiaomi fans (Mifen·米粉).

On the same day, Lei Jun directly shared the current achievements and future goals of the SU7, which was launched on the 28th of last month. He said, "As of the 20th, the cumulative orders for the SU7 reached about 70,000 units. Since then, Tesla lowered its prices by 14,000 yuan (approximately 2.65 million KRW), and industry dealers stopped selling vehicles, among other events. However, despite Tesla's price cut, nearly 6,000 additional orders were placed, bringing the cumulative orders to 75,723 units as of the 25th, just 28 days after launch, with 5,781 vehicles delivered." He also revealed at an investor meeting held the day before that the delivery target for this year is around 100,000 units, and the delivery of the SU7 Max version, initially planned to start at the end of this month, was moved up to the 18th.

Lei Jun emphasized, "After Xiaomi's electric vehicle launch, we faced many harsh tests and were scared every day. But as sales exploded, we gained confidence." He added, "Making cars is difficult, but success is definitely wonderful," and said, "Besides Tesla, I don't think there is a better car than ours (SU7)." He also stressed that the delivery target by June is 10,000 units, which will set a record among emerging industry players.

He stated, "Xiaomi Motors' goal is to become one of the world's top five automobile manufacturers after 15 to 20 years of effort," and seemingly referring to Tesla's recent personnel restructuring, expressed his hiring intention by saying, "We welcome those who join Xiaomi to realize their life dreams and share a great era together."

According to Xiaomi, the company plans to launch a pure electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) in the future, as well as a low-priced model significantly cheaper than the premium SU7. The second new SUV is expected to be released in the first half of 2025, and the low-priced model is anticipated by the industry to be priced around 150,000 yuan and launched in 2026.

Meanwhile, the Beijing Motor Show, which opened on this day and runs until the 4th of next month under the theme "New Era, New Cars," features 1,500 automobile companies worldwide exhibiting 278 new models and 41 concept cars. Global companies such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, MINI, Audi, Volkswagen, Polestar, Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Nissan, Ford, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC)-GM (Chevrolet, Cadillac), Lincoln, Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover, and local Chinese companies including BYD, Geely, Li Xiang, Changan, and Xiaomi are participating.

Korean companies Hyundai & Beijing Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis each opened booths showcasing models such as 'The All-New Santa Fe,' electric vehicle 'Ioniq 5 N,' compact SUV 'Sonet,' and premium brand 'G80 FL' electrified model. American Tesla did not participate.
