Geu In-mo, Geochang County Governor, Visits Central Government Departments to Secure National Funding

10 Projects Across 7 Ministries Including the Ministry of Economy and Finance
Request for 4.1168 Trillion KRW in National Budget Projects

Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 25th that County Governor Gu In-mo requested support for national budget projects worth 4.1168 trillion KRW, including state-led projects, from seven central government ministries such as the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 23rd and 24th.


So far, the county has set its target for securing national and provincial funds for next year at 292.9 billion KRW, which is 15.4 billion KRW more than this year, and has been making every effort to expand finances step-by-step to enter the era of a 10 trillion KRW budget by establishing a national fund securing strategic plan and holding project discovery briefing sessions in January and February.

This central government budget request includes 10 projects, with a total project cost of 4.1168 trillion KRW including state-led projects. Geochang-gun’s projects consist of 6 projects worth 145.3 billion KRW, and state-led projects include 4 projects worth 3.9715 trillion KRW.


On the first day, the 23rd, Governor Gu visited three ministries to request national budget support for ▲ Agricultural Product Distribution Center Support Project (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs) ▲ Phase 2 Old Water Supply Network Maintenance Project (Ministry of Environment) ▲ Southern Region Veterans Recreation Center Construction (Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs / State-led).


On the second day, the 24th, he requested early budget allocation and inclusion in the budget for seven projects to four ministries including the Ministry of Economy and Finance: ▲ Gimcheon-ri Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District Maintenance Project (Ministry of the Interior and Safety) ▲ Migideunji-gu Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District Maintenance Project (Ministry of the Interior and Safety) ▲ Early Construction of Jincheon~Yeongdong~Geochang~Hapcheon Expressway (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport / State-led) ▲ Inclusion in the 6th National Road and Local Road Construction Plan for the 4-lane expansion of National Local Road No. 37 from Buksang to Mari (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport / State-led) ▲ Inclusion in the 6th National Road and Local Road Construction Plan for the 4-lane expansion of National Road No. 37 from Mari Yulli to Malheul (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport / State-led) ▲ Gimcheon District Urban Regeneration Public Contest Project (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) ▲ Creation of a Complex Theater Arts Facility (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).


Governor Gu In-mo said, “We are making all-out efforts on all fronts to secure financial momentum that will guarantee the growth and development of Geochang for the next 50 years,” and added, “I hope all residents and active support from those who have left the county will join forces to secure the maximum national budget next year.”


Meanwhile, as the central government budget review will begin in earnest from May, the county plans to respond actively and keenly to the government’s budget review to ensure that all the national budget projects applied for this time are reflected.
