The free tasting event for ‘Gimhae Dwitgogi,’ a local representative delicacy, beckons spring outing visitors.

Korea Racing Authority LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam (Head Eom Young-seok) announced on the 25th that it will hold the ‘Gimhae Dwitgogi Free Tasting Event’ at the park’s Derby Square on the 28th.

Dwitgogi, a representative dish of Gimhae, commonly refers to leftover scraps from dividing pork by parts. It is said that the name ‘Dwitgogi’ originated because workers at slaughterhouses used to secretly take the tastier parts for themselves.

Gimhae Dwitgogi has risen in popularity as a widely loved food due to its excellent taste and texture and relatively affordable price.

At this tasting event organized by Gimhae City, an experience center will be set up where visitors can taste 150kg of Dwitgogi. A promotional booth to raise awareness of the Gimhae Dwitgogi brand will also be operated.

Additionally, in celebration of the 2024 National Sports Festival and the Year of Visiting Gimhae, various promotional booths will be run, offering diverse attractions and experiences such as Buncheong pottery, Gaya traditional clothing experiences, and horse culture programs.

On the day of the event, a sports photography seminar in collaboration with Sony Korea will also be held. The seminar, themed ‘Sports Photography Anyone Can Easily Learn,’ will provide an opportunity to capture the galloping racehorses under the guidance of a professional photographer, an experience rarely available.

Furthermore, family visitors can enjoy a horse-drawn carriage Polaroid family photo zone, free photo printing services, and various prize draws, which are expected to attract visitors’ interest.
