On the 25th, SK Hynix stated in its Q1 earnings conference call that "high-capacity NAND solutions, which are faster and consume less power compared to existing storage solutions, are emerging as attractive options for handling heavy workloads of artificial intelligence (AI) unstructured data," adding, "This increase in demand is new demand arising from the expansion of the AI market and is a structural change, which is very positive for NAND suppliers."
They further said, "In the short term, we believe that the demand for high-performance, low-power storage solutions that highlight the advantages of NAND storage is continuously materializing due to the growth of the AI market and the increased AI utilization by individual companies."
They continued, "To implement ultra-high-capacity SSDs, solutions using the Quad-Level Cell (QLC) method are needed rather than the mainstream Triple-Level Cell (TLC) currently in the market, and our company plans to respond to the demand upside through the QLC solutions uniquely held by Solidigm in the industry."
