Almek, a global aluminum parts specialist for electric vehicles led by CEO Shin Sang-ho, announced on the 25th that it has signed a supply contract worth 168.5 billion KRW for electric vehicle battery module cases with BlueOvalSK.
This contract amounts to nearly 80% of Almek's total sales of 216 billion KRW last year and is scheduled for delivery based on confirmed product orders from 2026 to 2030.
BlueOvalSK is a U.S.-based joint venture established by SK On and Ford Motor Company.
An Almek representative stated, "Our domestically first-developed ultra-precision extrusion technology and 'Crash Alloy' technology, which produces safety functional materials, are applied to all our main production products, securing a unique position in the electric vehicle (EV) parts sector. As automakers increasingly demand more precise and challenging quality standards, we will continue to grow to meet these expectations."
Almek's core business focuses on electric vehicle-specific products, developing and manufacturing battery (secondary battery) module cases, battery pack frames, and electric vehicle platform frames.
Meanwhile, Almek aims to establish a local factory in the United States by 2026 and secure new sales channels. Following last year's achievements, the company is targeting record-high sales growth again this year to become a global top-tier player in the electric vehicle and secondary battery materials and components industry.
