Achieving Miniaturization and High Performance
Successful Development of Single Module-Based Robot 4-Axis Simultaneous Control
Conducted Mounting Tests with Japanese Robot Company
RS Automation is showing strong performance. The news of launching the world's smallest 4-axis robot control drive appears to be influencing the stock price.
At 9:11 AM on the 25th, RS Automation was trading at 17,790 KRW, up 5.2% from the previous day.
On this day, the robot motion control specialist RS Automation announced the release of the world’s smallest drive, the ‘D8 4AXIS Drive,’ capable of simultaneously controlling 4 robot axes. The drive is a robot actuator device that functions like human muscles and is one of the three core components of robot motion.
A company representative introduced, "The D8 series drive, which can control four axes simultaneously with a single module, is a product that combines both cost-effectiveness and practicality by successfully achieving the smallest size with a focus on miniaturization and high performance." They added, "We will strengthen sales activities targeting the next-generation robot market, where there is demand for efficient multi-axis robots such as autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and overhead hoist transfer (OHT) systems in semiconductor production lines."
RS Automation’s D8 series has innovatively reduced size by handling a 4-axis robot with a single drive unit. It separately receives sensor signals from each of the four robot axes, solving issues such as braking or interference that occur during operation. This can resolve mechanical difficulties in fields like mobile robots. Equipped with a dual-core CPU and RS Automation’s AI-based control platform, it is expected to deliver the best performance compared to products in the same class.
Kang Deok-hyun, CEO of RS Automation, said, "The competitiveness of future robot motion control lies in technology that can flexibly respond to customer requests for 4-axis, 6-axis, and more." He added, "The D8 product is undergoing installation tests on 4-axis robots with a global Japanese robot company, and is also set for exclusive application in new OHT lines of domestic semiconductor companies."
