Hanmi Semiconductor Sponsors Korean War Veterans Record Project

Hanmi Semiconductor donated 100 million KRW to photographer Rami Hyun (Korean name Hyun Hyoje), who is affiliated with the nonprofit organization Project Soldier, which expresses gratitude to Korean War veterans and documents their pride through photos and videos.

Kwack Dong-shin, Vice Chairman and CEO of Hanmi Semiconductor, said, "In 2017, I had the opportunity to visit Washington D.C. while accompanying the President on a trip to the United States. When I saw the phrase engraved at the Korean War Veterans Memorial, 'Freedom is not free,' I felt deep respect and gratitude toward the United Nations veterans who sacrificed for the freedom and peace of the Republic of Korea."

He added, "Recently, I learned about photographer Rami Hyun of Project Soldier, who records their pride through photos and videos and conveys their value and dedication to the next generation. I decided to support this cause to help."

Since 2013, Project Soldier has been visiting Korean War participant countries including South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom to capture photos and videos of veterans, documenting their beliefs, service, and sacrifices, with the aim of passing these values on to future generations.
