The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that Yang Byung-nae, Deputy Minister for Trade, met with Ramin Toloui, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, who is visiting Korea on the 25th, to discuss ways to strengthen Korea-U.S. semiconductor industry cooperation and investment.

Deputy Minister Yang expressed hope that the excellent manufacturing capabilities of Korean semiconductor companies and the innovative capabilities of U.S. companies will create synergy amid the expanding advanced industry and supply chain cooperation between Korea and the U.S., based on recent large-scale investments by Korean companies in the U.S.

He also requested that the U.S. side provide sufficient support related to semiconductor law subsidies to ensure that Korean companies can smoothly carry out investments in the U.S. under the common goal of strengthening the global semiconductor supply chain.

Deputy Minister Yang conveyed concerns that the U.S. Department of Commerce's anti-dumping investigation into aluminum extrusions is extensive, and pointed out that Korean companies recently investing in the U.S. are facing difficulties in obtaining visas to dispatch necessary experts locally, requesting attention and cooperation at the State Department level.

Deputy Secretary Toloui evaluated that cooperation between the Korean and U.S. governments as well as private sectors is strengthening, and stated that he would carefully review matters related to Korea's requests, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
