On the 24th at 10 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, the mayor of Nowon District, attended the 'Sexual Caregiver Education' held at the main auditorium of the Nowon District Office in Seoul.
The 'Sexual Caregiver Education' was established to help caregivers first understand digital sexual culture and to prevent and respond to digital sexual violence, as the number of digital sex crimes in South Korea has increased, exposing children to greater risks.
Chu Guk-hwa, director of the Nowon Youth Sexual Counseling Center, gave a lecture on topics such as 'Understanding Youth Sexual Culture and Digital Culture' and 'Prevention and Response to Digital Sexual Violence,' focusing on the proper sex education methods needed for children in their developmental stages.
In particular, Chu Guk-hwa provided time for caregivers to freely discuss their questions and concerns encountered while raising their children, facilitating a conversation about the proper direction for sex education.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “I empathize with the importance of the role of 'sexual caregivers' who provide sex education to children and the need for education to precede this role, which is why we organized this 'sex educator' lecture. I hope this lecture will be a valuable opportunity to recognize the importance of sex education for children and to obtain accurate information.”
