No Fee for Bringing Large Household Waste to Collection Sites...Full Implementation Starting This Month
Dispose on Desired Days Without Waiting by Visiting After Prior Reservation
Available 6 Days a Week from 9 AM to 6 PM...Enhanced Convenience for Residents Through Simplified Procedures
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is promoting a project that waives fees if residents bring large waste generated at home directly to the collection center.
It is common to dispose of large waste by obtaining a disposal permit online or at the local community service center. However, complaints have arisen due to fees, complicated refund procedures, and cases where the item to be disposed of is not listed in the reporting system. Abandoned waste on the streets also posed a problem by damaging the urban landscape.
In response, the district has prepared a free large waste disposal plan. After making a reservation in advance, residents can bring large waste directly and receive a fee reduction. This not only reduces the financial burden but also allows disposal on the desired date without waiting for the collection day.
The collection center is located on the basement first floor of the Gwangjang-dong Multipurpose Public Complex (831 Cheonho-daero). It is open from Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM, and visitors must bring their ID.
Reservations can be made through the Cleaning Department of Gwangjin-gu Office.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We have simplified the cumbersome large waste disposal procedure to enhance convenience for residents,” adding, “We will continue to seek practical policies that can resolve inconveniences in daily life.”
