"Didn't sell alcohol," then came back 3 days later to threaten
A man in his 50s who was protesting to a store owner while hiding a weapon inside his clothes was caught by the police.
On the 24th, the Daegu Dongbu Police Station announced that they had sent Mr. A to prosecution on charges of attempted special intimidation. Mr. A is suspected of threatening Mr. B, a man in his 40s who runs a store in Bangchon-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu, at around 10:20 a.m. on the 31st of last month.
CCTV footage of the incident shows Mr. A repeatedly knocking on the entrance door of the building where Mr. B was. Mr. A was smoking in the building corridor and said, "Hey, so what I’m saying is..." As the situation escalated, Mr. B eventually called the police.
Four police officers from the Dongchon Police Substation who were patrolling nearby immediately arrived at the scene. However, Mr. A did not comply with the officers’ control and kept trying to go to where Mr. B was. The officers said, "Please don’t do that and speak in the corridor," to which Mr. A replied, "I’m trying to apologize."
While trying to calm Mr. A and engage in conversation, Sergeant Park Gi-kyung discovered two knife handles in the inner pocket of Mr. A’s jacket and immediately confiscated them. The knife handles were found inside a zipper that Mr. A opened while taking out his phone.
It was found that Mr. A committed the crime after visiting the store in a drunken state three days earlier and being refused service by Mr. B. Holding a grudge over the refusal, Mr. A was investigated to have come to the store intoxicated on the day of the crime.
