Isukhee, a member of the Buk-gu Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City, held a meeting with parents and related departments to promote childbirth and strengthen childcare support.
The meeting, held on the 23rd at the Buk-gu Council, was organized to discuss the diagnosis of the current status of childbirth and childcare processes and the necessity of support before the revision of the “Ordinance on Promotion of Childbirth and Childcare Support.”
Councilor Lee stated, “Birth issues have become a social topic, and active interest from local governments and parents is necessary to prepare countermeasures against population decline,” adding, “Based on the opinions gathered through this meeting, we will prepare a revised ordinance that will practically help create a childbirth-friendly atmosphere and realize a Buk-gu that is good for raising children.”
Meanwhile, Councilor Lee plans to propose the ordinance at the 293rd extraordinary session, which will open on the 13th of next month.
