DGB Daegu Bank announced that it will implement the ‘GLN Overseas Easy Payment’ service in Japan, which allows customers to scan mobile QR codes or barcodes at overseas merchants through iM Bank to make payments.
This payment service enables users to conveniently make overseas payments via mobile without foreign exchange fees or additional overseas merchant fees when paying in local currency from Korean won or US dollars. The service has been available since January this year in Thailand, Laos, Taiwan, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Guam, and Saipan.
Daegu Bank has offered the service since January this year in Thailand, Laos, Taiwan, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Guam, and Saipan, and expanded it to Japan starting from the 22nd.
There is also an ongoing event offering 100% preferential exchange rates and exemption from payment fees when using ‘GLN Overseas Easy Payment.’ The payment amount is exchanged in real-time from the user’s account into the local currency and immediately withdrawn.
Hwang Byung-woo, President of Daegu Bank, stated, “We will actively strive to provide various foreign exchange services and benefits to meet the diverse needs of customers planning overseas travel.”
