Suncheonman Garden and Suncheonman Wetland Re-designated as Excellent Wellness Tourism Destinations

Selected 5 Consecutive Times Since 2017

Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that Suncheonman National Garden and Suncheonman Wetland have been re-designated as ‘Excellent Wellness Tourism Destinations’ by the Korea Tourism Organization. With this re-designation, they have been selected as ‘Excellent Wellness Tourism Destinations’ for five consecutive times since 2017.

The ‘Excellent Wellness Tourism Destinations’ are selected every two years by the Korea Tourism Organization through a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of wellness content suitability, efforts to attract tourists, and future development potential.

Suncheonman National Garden and Suncheonman Wetland were recognized for their excellence as the venue of the ‘2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo,’ recorded as the most successful international event with over ten million visitors, and as a representative ecotourism site in Korea.

Since its opening in April, Suncheonman National Garden has attracted 590,000 visitors within just three weeks, continuing its popularity, and is holding cultural events every weekend until December this year under the theme of ‘Garden Culture (Emotion) Green Route.’

A city official said, “Suncheonman National Garden has prepared many differentiated contents that can only be experienced in Suncheon, themed around Suncheon, a place even astronauts visit,” and added, “As the season for traveling arrives, we hope visitors come to Suncheon to heal and enjoy their time.”
