Various Programs Prepared for Regional Coexistence and Solidarity
Cheonan City in Chungnam will host the ‘2024 Very Very Bbangbbang Day,’ a festival promoting coexistence and solidarity with the local community.
The ‘2024 Very Very Bbangbbang Day,’ held from the 27th to the 28th, features 68 neighborhood bakeries showcasing breads made with local agricultural products, along with a bread pilgrimage group and baking experience events.
During the festival, participating neighborhood bakeries will offer at least a 10% discount on breads made with local agricultural products such as strawberries, and will provide Cheonan strawberry milk and Heungtaryeong rice as gifts.
The bread pilgrimage group, the main program of Bbangbbang Day, will operate with a total of 300 teams and over 1,000 participants, including 150 teams from within the city and 150 teams from outside.
To promote the brand of ‘Cheonan, the City of Bread,’ the bread pilgrimage group, gathered from all over the country, will visit two neighborhood bakeries and one traditional market or bookstore, then complete a mission by posting certification photos and reviews on SNS.
The walnut cookie baking and Cheonan Friends cookie decorating experience events will be held on the 27th in the city hall lobby for about 700 people from 190 pre-registered teams.
Notably, this festival draws attention by linking various local resources such as the bakery industry, local farms, companies, and universities.
Participating bakeries will make breads using local agricultural products like Cheonan strawberries and wheat, and Namyang Dairy Products Cheonan Factory will specially produce and supply the gift ‘Bbangbbang Day Strawberry Milk’ made with raw milk from Cheonan dairy farms and eco-friendly strawberries.
Baekseok Culture University is supporting the production of the Cheonan bread pilgrimage map and the Cheonan Friends cookie experience event with its own budget, and Shinsegae Food Cheonan Factory plans to donate 25,000 breads to children’s and disability facilities to share the event with underprivileged groups.
Mayor Park Sang-don said, “Cheonan’s bread has become an excellent local resource and a cultural content,” adding, “We expect this festival to have a positive effect on the entire local community by promoting coexistence between the bread industry and local farms, linking traditional markets and bookstores, revitalizing cultural tourism, and supporting small business promotion.”
