Benchmarking Visit by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Planning Officer and Delegation
Established as a Must-Visit Course for Local Governments and Public Institutions Nationwide
Ulsan Ulju-gun is attracting visits from local governments and public institutions nationwide to benchmark its drone policy, one of the core industries of the 4th Industrial Revolution it is promoting.
On the 24th, in response to a benchmarking request from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s Emergency Safety Planning Office delegation, Ulju-gun shared know-how including the operation status of the Ulju-gun Drone Integrated Control Center and demonstrations of drone pilot projects.
A county official stated, "Since 2021, Ulju-gun has established itself as a leader in national drone policy by being selected three times, including the first and second rounds of the Drone Special Zone and the drone pilot city development project, up to this year."
The county is actively conducting drone projects in various fields such as drone verification and advancement, surveillance and patrol using drones, integrated defense, drone education, cultural event hosting, and delivery services.
Last month, at the '2024 Drone Show Korea' held at BEXCO in Busan, Ulju-gun’s promotional booth and conference presentations received great responses.
On the 2nd and 3rd of this month, Namwon City and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration visited for drone benchmarking, and next month, cities including Gimpo are scheduled to visit the county.
Last year, several public institutions such as Ulju Fire Station, Ulsan Coast Guard, and Ulsan military units, as well as about ten local governments including Changwon City, Gumi City, and Uiseong-gun, visited the county for drone benchmarking.
County Governor Lee Soon-geol said, "Ulju-gun is promoting leading policies for the future development of the drone industry as a drone standard city," adding, "We will strive to share know-how through active benchmarking so that we can grow together with other local governments and institutions."
