"Field-Oriented Practical Talent Development"... Venture Business Association Partners with 7 Universities

Support for Hiring and Connecting Specialized SW Personnel in Small and Medium Venture Enterprises

The Korea Venture Business Association is partnering with seven universities, including Kwangwoon University, to cultivate field-oriented talent for small and venture startups.

"Field-Oriented Practical Talent Development"... Venture Business Association Partners with 7 Universities On October 30th last year, the '2023 Venture Startup SW/Developer Talent Matching Festival' was held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul.

On the 24th, the Korea Venture Business Association announced that it signed an agreement with Kwangwoon University, Soonchunhyang University, Soongsil University, Wonkwang University, Inha University, Jeju University, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies to carry out the 'Venture Startup Academy Project for Ministry-Collaborative Talent Development (SW and Content Fields)'.

The academy project, supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, includes operating an online recruitment platform for venture companies, running a SW technology mentor group, organizing company visit events, and holding SW talent recruitment fairs and briefing sessions.

This year, the association plans to produce a total of 325 SW personnel from seven universities and support their recruitment linkage with small and venture companies. Each university's project team, which signed the agreement, will devise education operation strategies according to their goals to foster talent. Soonchunhyang University, the only newly selected university this year, announced that it will contribute to regional revitalization by connecting specialized personnel to companies in the Chungcheong area.

Last year, through agreements with Kwangwoon University, Soongsil University, Wonkwang University, and Inha University, a total of 181 graduates were produced. Kim Seok-yoon, head of the Soongsil University project team, said, "By participating in the Venture Startup Academy, we are narrowing the gap between companies and universities," adding, "With the operation of various curricula reflecting field demands, an environment conducive to cultivating practical SW professionals has been established."

A representative of the Korea Venture Business Association stated, "Through the academy project, we will strengthen the cooperative system with the partner universities to nurture practical talent and contribute to alleviating the shortage of SW developers."
