Participation from over 12,000 people, 280 companies, and 70 countries worldwide
'World of Coffee Busan' and 'World Barista Championship' Held
The major participating countries and companies, both domestic and international, for the ‘World of Coffee & World Barista Championship’ have been revealed.
‘World of Coffee Busan,’ held from May 1 to 4 at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1, will host over 12,000 participants from 280 companies across more than 70 countries, sharing the latest global coffee trends and technologies.
Among well-known domestic coffee-related companies are ▲ Italy’s ‘Rancilio,’ exporting coffee machines to 115 countries worldwide ▲ Italy’s premium handcrafted espresso machine brand ‘La Marzocco,’ established in 1927 ▲ Korea’s ‘Stronghold,’ a roaster company known as the Tesla of the coffee industry ▲ and ‘Ascaso,’ a coffee machine brand crafted by skilled artisans using the finest materials, showcasing a variety of unique coffee-related companies and brands.
From coffee-producing countries representing unique coffee cultures globally, over 70 countries including famous coffee origins such as Panama, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia will participate, contributing to the global coffee culture.
Globally beloved for their premium beans, brands from various countries exporting coffee beans will also be featured, including ▲ Panama Geisha ▲ Saudi Arabia’s top specialty roastery ‘The Roasting House,’ which insists on only the finest beans ▲ Colombia’s ‘Col Spirit,’ boasting over 100 years of history and specialty beans produced from more than 50 individual farms ▲ ‘Kelachandra Coffee’ from India’s biodiversity-rich mountainous regions ▲ and the Netherlands’ ‘Dark Coffee Roasters,’ known for selecting beautiful and unique coffees to extract the best flavors.
Additionally, various companies related to the coffee industry will gather to share the latest global coffee technologies and trends, including ▲ SPC Group’s specialty coffee brand ‘Coffee@Works’ ▲ Germany’s water technology company ‘BWT,’ striving for a sustainable world through technology ▲ and Brita’s eco-friendly water purifiers, leading efforts to reduce resource waste and create a sustainable world.
‘World of Coffee Busan’ is a globally prestigious specialty coffee exhibition held annually in Europe, aimed at advancing the global coffee industry, nurturing talent, and revitalizing the specialty coffee community. This is the first time it will be held in Asia, raising expectations as it takes place in Busan, South Korea.
At this year’s ‘World of Coffee Busan,’ domestic and international coffee companies will participate, showcasing coffee-related products, technologies, and services. Through the Roaster Village exhibition hall, roastery cafes from home and abroad will promote their coffee and brands. Simultaneously, the ‘World Barista Championship,’ the world’s most prestigious coffee championship featuring winners from over 60 countries annually, will also be held.
Since its first event in Monte Carlo in 2000, the ‘World Barista Championship’ has crowned champions such as Australia’s Paul Bassett and Korea’s Jeon Ju-yeon, who represent their countries’ coffee industries and serve as leaders in the global coffee industry.
This year’s ‘World Barista Championship’ will include the championship to select the world’s best barista, as well as ‘BrewBar,’ where visitors to BEXCO from May 1 to 4 can watch coffee brewing demonstrations and taste coffee by famous baristas worldwide, and the ‘Barista Party,’ a networking and social event for baristas from around the world.
Coffee enthusiasts and visitors wishing to attend the ‘2024 World of Coffee & World Barista Championship Busan,’ held from May 1 to 4 at Busan BEXCO, can purchase discounted early bird tickets for one-day or four-day passes through reservation sites such as Interpark and Naver until April 28.
