"Future Defense Ironclad Security"... LIG Nex1 and Xgate Sign MOU on 'Quantum Security Technology in Defense Sector'

Driving Innovation in National Defense Security Systems

Joining Hands to Secure Quantum Security Solutions

LIG Nex1 (CEO Shin Ik-hyun) and Xgate (CEO Joo Gap-su) have joined forces to secure a ‘quantum security’ solution, which is gaining attention as a core element of future defense security systems.

On the 23rd, LIG Nex1 announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Xgate for ‘Cooperation on the Application of Quantum Security Technology in the Defense Sector’ at the LIG Nex1 Pangyo R&D Center in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The event was attended by key figures and officials, including Choi Jong-jin, Head of the C4ISTAR Division at LIG Nex1, and Joo Gap-su, CEO of Xgate.

"Future Defense Ironclad Security"... LIG Nex1 and Xgate Sign MOU on 'Quantum Security Technology in Defense Sector' On the 23rd, officials from LIG Nex1 and Xgate, who signed a "Business Agreement for Cooperation in Applying Quantum Security Technology in the Defense Sector" at LIG Nex1 Pangyo R&D Center, are posing for a commemorative photo.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will closely collaborate to innovate defense security systems by utilizing quantum security and ICT convergence technologies, including joint research on the application of quantum security in military communication operations, exchange of quantum cryptographic communication technologies, and planning and joint exhibition of quantum security solutions.

As weapon systems rapidly advance toward unmanned, intelligent, and networked capabilities, securing supporting security systems has emerged as a critical task in the defense sector.

LIG Nex1 plans to contribute to building optimized security systems for future defense weapon systems by integrating Xgate’s proven quantum security solutions with its accumulated expertise in communication equipment, unmanned systems, surveillance reconnaissance, and electronic warfare.

Choi Jong-jin, Head of the C4ISTAR Division at LIG Nex1, stated, “As quantum computing technology, which can break even complex encryption systems in a short time, advances, developing security systems to protect our military’s strategic assets has become an urgent task. Through close cooperation between the two companies, we plan to focus on securing military communication solutions applied with quantum-resistant cryptography technology that is fundamentally unhackable.”

Joo Gap-su, CEO of Xgate, said, “Xgate has accumulated research and development expertise in quantum-resistant encryption based on quantum random number generators (QRNG) and quantum-resistant cryptography (PQC) technologies. We will strive to ensure that this leads to an excellent case of applying quantum security technology in the defense sector.”
