Happo-gu Munhwa-dong Won-Buddhism Shinmasan Church Donates Rice with Love

Wonbulgyo Shinmasan Church, located in Munhwa-dong, Happo-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, donated 60 bags of 10kg white rice to the Munhwa-dong Administrative Welfare Center on the 23rd, asking that it be delivered to neighbors in need in celebration of the upcoming Daegak Gae Gyojeol on the 28th.

Wonbulgyo Shinmasan Church has been delivering love by donating white rice, monetary contributions, and more every year as part of a gratitude feast for neighbors in celebration of Daegak Gae Gyojeol.

Starting with 90 boxes of ramen in 2016, they have donated 399 bags of white rice, 110 boxes of ramen, and 3.6 million won in scholarships through 2022, and this year as well, they donated 60 bags of white rice to support neighbors in need.

Park Seong-in, the head of the church congregation, said, “Every year, the members collect coins to pool funds and deliver things that can provide help. I hope this will be a pleasant gift for those who are economically struggling.”

Kim Oehwa, head of Munhwa-dong, said, “Thank you for never forgetting to care for marginalized neighbors and practicing sharing every year. We will make sure it is delivered well to those who truly need it.”
