Hive, a leading entertainment agency in Korea, is experiencing a decline in the early trading session due to a dispute with its subsidiary label 'ADOR,' which manages the girl group 'NewJeans.'
As of 9:49 AM on the 23rd, Hive's stock is trading at 206,000 KRW, down 6,500 KRW (3.06%) from the previous close. The trading volume is 389,330 shares, with a transaction value of approximately 80.5 billion KRW.
Concerns grew after it was revealed that Hive headquarters had begun an audit of the management of ADOR, the agency representing the girl group NewJeans. Negative factors compounded as suspicions of a management takeover of ADOR's executives surfaced, followed by plagiarism controversies involving the girl group 'I-LIT' and NewJeans.
However, securities firms expect the impact of this conflict to be limited. In a report on the 23rd, NH Investment & Securities stated, "Overall, the labels have efficient content production and rookie development capabilities, so dependence on a single label is not increasing," adding, "It would be best if the conflict related to ADOR is resolved quickly and amicably, but even if that does not happen, the damage to Hive's mid- to long-term growth momentum will be limited."
