Kakao announced on the 23rd that it participated as the only official private partner from Asia in the 'Digital for SMEs Initiative (D4SME)' meeting held on the 19th at the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris.

At the D4SME meeting, Kakao presented on 'Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology through KakaoTalk Channels' and 'Project Dangol.'
Yoonseok Park, Kakao's Shared Growth Performance Leader, who spoke at the event, introduced the chatbot on KakaoTalk Channels as an AI technology case supporting the digital transformation of small business owners. Leader Park explained, "The chatbot automatically responds 24/7 to one-on-one chats between business owners and customers, providing essential information such as business hours, parking inquiries, and discounts," adding, "The cost-saving effect of customer service using the chatbot reaches up to 141.4 billion KRW annually."
The support fund for Talk Channel messages provided through the 'Soshin Sangin Support Program' exceeded 20 billion KRW as of April this year. Since August 2022, Kakao has been providing 300,000 KRW free of charge for Talk Channel message sending costs to help small business owners effectively utilize KakaoTalk Channels. Leader Park stated, "Approximately 60,000 small business owners have benefited over the past 1 year and 8 months, resulting in an additional sales effect of up to 25.5 million KRW per business owner," and added, "We will continue to support this for the next five years."
D4SME is a global consortium led by the OECD's Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities, aiming at the digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises. Kakao is participating as part of strengthening international cooperation in the social sector of ESG. This D4SME meeting discussed the theme of 'SMEs in the Era of Generative AI.'
