Samsung Pharmaceutical is once again taking strong legal action against the unauthorized use of its trade name and similar trademarks. The company urged special caution to prevent consumer damage.
On the 23rd, Samsung Pharmaceutical announced that it will file criminal complaints against companies and representatives who repeatedly plagiarize Samsung Pharmaceutical's trade name and use similar trademarks, causing damage.
In addition to the unauthorized use of trade names and trademarks, these entities also impersonated their own customer consultation channels as if they were the official Samsung Pharmaceutical Consumer Center.
In January last year, Samsung Pharmaceutical filed a complaint for violation of the Act on the Prevention of Unfair Competition and Protection of Trade Secrets against companies and representatives who sold products similar to its own while labeling the product name as "Samsung Pharmaceutical" or selling them as if manufactured by Samsung Pharmaceutical. The trial is currently underway.
Since inappropriate business practices have continued, causing consumer damage and serious harm to the company's image, Samsung Pharmaceutical decided to take strong legal measures.
A Samsung Pharmaceutical official explained, "We continuously monitor to prevent consumer damage caused by unauthorized use of our trade name and send certified letters requesting the cessation of unfair practices to the relevant companies as part of various efforts." He added, "We have taken strong legal action and will continue to respond firmly to similar cases in the future to prevent consumer damage and enhance corporate trust."
