Participation of Four Affiliates Including LG Energy Solution, Electronics, Display, and Innotek
LG will participate in the world's largest electric vehicle event, the '37th World Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition (EVS37),' held for four days from the 23rd to the 26th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, presenting a blueprint for its future mobility business. Through four affiliates?LG Energy Solution, LG Electronics, LG Display, and LG Innotek?they will jointly operate an exhibition hall under the theme 'Vision Story for Future Mobility.'
EVS37 is an electric vehicle symposium and exhibition hosted by the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) and the Electric Vehicle Association of Asia Pacific (EVAAP), and organized by the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE). It is known as the Olympics of electric vehicles, with over 1,500 electric vehicle experts and more than 200 global mobility companies from over 60 countries participating. This is the first time in nine years that the event is held in Korea.
LG showcases future mobility products and technologies held by its affiliates, including ▲the core of electric vehicles, 'batteries,' ▲the 'powertrain system' that converts electric energy into kinetic energy to drive the wheels, ▲key autonomous driving components such as 'vehicle cameras' and 'LiDAR,' ▲'displays' that provide in-vehicle information, ▲a 'vehicle content platform' offering differentiated experiences, and ▲a premium electric vehicle infotainment system based on P-OLED (Plastic-OLED).
Park Il-pyeong, President of LG Science Park, will participate as a keynote speaker at EVS37, delivering a presentation on 'The Future of Mobility.' LG researchers will share their research achievements at the symposium on topics such as 'analysis of electric vehicle battery performance degradation and fault diagnosis,' 'key technologies for software-defined vehicles (SDV),' and 'in-vehicle recognition technologies enhancing SDV user experience,' showcasing LG's research and development (R&D) capabilities.
An LG representative said, "This exhibition participation is an opportunity for LG affiliates engaged in battery and automotive electronics businesses to demonstrate LG's status in the electric vehicle field," adding, "We will continue to consolidate group capabilities to create business synergies."
Full Lineup of Electric Vehicle Electronics Including Batteries and Powertrain on Display
Based on the specialized technological capabilities of each affiliate, LG is expanding the electric vehicle ecosystem by providing various automotive electronic products and solutions in the eco-friendly future mobility sector, including electric vehicles. As a result, LG has been recognized for its technological and quality competitiveness by major global automakers and has been selected as a 'Best Supplier,' expanding its influence in the automotive industry.
LG Energy Solution will showcase pouch-type and cylindrical batteries customizable to customer needs, as well as 'Cell to Pack' technology that is lighter, safer, and achieves higher energy efficiency, and the 'B-Lifecare' service that optimizes electric vehicle battery performance and lifespan.
LG Electronics will introduce a premium electric vehicle infotainment system integrating three screens?the instrument cluster, central information display (CID), and passenger seat display?and a vehicle content platform (ACP) developed to allow users to enjoy high-definition videos, games, music, and other content previously enjoyed on mobile phones or TVs inside the vehicle.
LG Magna, a joint venture, will publicly unveil for the first time to general visitors the 'High Speed Hairpin Motor' delivering 250 kilowatts (kW) output using 800 volts (V) high voltage, the '800V SiC Inverter' that controls the motor powered by the battery, and the '800V IPGM' drive system, an integrated product combining the motor, inverter, and gearbox.
LG Display will exhibit high-definition P-OLED and Tandem OLED technologies that enable flexible design, competitively priced 'ATO (Advanced Thin OLED),' an autostereoscopic 3D instrument cluster, and 'Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon (LTPS) LCD' products featuring viewing angle control technology (SPM). Tandem OLED is a technology pioneered by the company in the industry that stacks two organic light-emitting layers to enhance brightness, lifespan, and durability.
LG Innotek will introduce sensing solutions such as 'vehicle cameras' and 'LiDAR,' key components for autonomous driving and electric vehicles; vehicle communication solutions including '5G-V2X communication modules' for connected cars; lighting solutions such as the high-value-added lighting module 'Nexlide'; and power solutions like the 'Wireless Battery Management System (Wireless BMS).'
