Samsung Electronics stated that Clayton will supply kitchen packages consisting of refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, and microwaves to newly supplied homes. Residents can also choose to add washing machines and dryers.
Samsung Electronics created the kitchen package to enable various smart functions based on Wi-Fi. The products included have received the 'Energy Star' certification granted by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for high-efficiency energy products.
Residents can easily connect and control devices through Samsung Electronics' integrated connection platform, SmartThings. They can also connect third-party devices such as lights and switches to enjoy a smart home experience.
The system monitors the entire home's power consumption. Using an artificial intelligence (AI) saving mode, it helps consumers reduce usage before reaching their set monthly power consumption, making energy saving easy.
Samsung Electronics reported that its builder supply sales, which include North American residential and commercial buildings, have recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 30% since 2019.
Colt Davis, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Clayton Home Building Group, said, "Clayton has partnered with companies that deliver innovation, sustainability, and world-class experiences," adding, "We highly evaluated Samsung’s outstanding product performance, customer service, and high energy efficiency, which led to this partnership."
Choi Ik-su, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ DA (Digital Appliances) Division, said, "We signed the supply contract for Samsung home appliances, recognized for the smart connected experience based on SmartThings and high-efficiency energy performance," and added, "We will continue to expand collaboration with major North American construction companies and actively target the business-to-business (B2B) market."
