‘Songpa Youth Film Festival’ Open for Submissions Until the 14th of Next Month

Songpa-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) is publicly recruiting participants to shine in the "4th Songpa Youth Film Festival," where teenagers create films themselves from planning to shooting and production.

Since 2021, the district has held the "Songpa Youth Film Festival" annually. It is designed to allow teenagers to take the lead in everything from writing scenarios to acting, filming, and editing, helping them gain a sense of accomplishment.

This year, a "Film Production Special Lecture" will be offered to students participating in the festival. It will provide various career exploration opportunities by covering copyright education, basics of video production, and career education in the video field.

The district is calling for films filled with the unique and fresh creativity of youth. There are no restrictions on the theme of submissions. In the first round, applications including the synopsis of the film to be produced will be accepted to recruit participating teams. In the second round, the teams will produce and submit their films, and the final outstanding works will be selected through judging.

Eligibility is open to any individual or group of middle and high school students and youth aged 12 to 19 nationwide. Applicants can download the participation application form posted on the SongpaLearn Education Portal, fill it out, and submit it via email to the person in charge by the 14th of next month. The total prize money for the festival is 10 million KRW, with awards of up to 2 million KRW. The award ceremony and screening will be held at the film festival in September this year.

Last year, a total of 17 works were submitted, and the festival was held at Lotte Cinema World Tower branch. For more details, please contact the Education Cooperation Division of Songpa-gu Office.
