Gyeonggi Province is undertaking maintenance of Seongam Port, Tando Port, and Heulgot Port to promote the Ansan Daebudo area Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project.
The Daebudo area Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project is aimed at revitalizing three underdeveloped fishing villages and ports in Ansan Daebudo, with a total investment of 14.8 billion KRW, including 10.4 billion KRW from the central government, 1.3 billion KRW from the provincial government, and 3.1 billion KRW from the city government.
Gyeonggi Province was selected for the '2022 Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project' announced by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in December 2021. After the basic plan was announced in December 2022, more than a year of detailed design, permits, and resident opinion gathering was conducted. The implementation plan was completed in January, and civil engineering work began this month.
The main projects include ▲ construction of a quay and pier at Heulgot Port ▲ maintenance of the seawall at Seongam Port ▲ maintenance of fishing ground access roads at Seongam Port and Tando Port ▲ remodeling of the seafood direct sales center at Tando Port ▲ and establishment of fishing village shared centers at the three ports.
Through the Daebudo area Fishing Village New Deal Project, Gyeonggi Province plans to improve convenience for fishing activities and living conditions, and create vibrant fishing villages by actively utilizing spaces around the ports to establish visitor convenience facilities.
Kim Bong-hyun, Director of the Marine and Fisheries Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "So far, eight locations have been finally selected for the Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project, securing a total project cost of 90.5 billion KRW." He added, "We will continue to apply for the Fishing Village New Vitality Project focused on responding to population decline in fishing areas to achieve good results."
