Seocheon Police Investigate 60-Year-Old for Theft of Outdoor Unit from Seafood Restaurant
Merchants who operated sashimi restaurants in the Chungnam Seocheon Specialty Market, which suffered damage from a large fire, are reporting stolen goods, prompting a police investigation.
On the 22nd, the Seocheon Police Station announced that they are investigating Mr. A for theft, who stole an outdoor unit of a sashimi restaurant worth approximately 4 million won from the specialty market.
According to Asia Economy's coverage, Mr. A (in his 60s) is suspected of stealing the sashimi restaurant's outdoor unit from the specialty market, which was unable to operate due to a large fire in January.
This was revealed after merchants Mr. B (in his 40s) and Mr. C (in his 30s), who operated sashimi restaurants, visited their fire-damaged shops and discovered the outdoor unit missing, leading them to report it to the police.
It was reported that the outdoor unit was not damaged by the fire.
After Mr. B reported to the police, Mr. A came to the market and reportedly said, "I intended to sell the outdoor unit and use the proceeds for the merchants' association fund."
It was revealed that Mr. A is serving as a director of the Specialty Market Merchants' Association.
A police official stated, "The investigation is ongoing, so we cannot disclose detailed information at this time."
