DeepNeuro, AI-Based Cerebral Aneurysm Diagnosis Support Solution
Notification of Innovative Medical Technology Usage Report
Installation Completed at 17 Major Hospitals in Korea
Medical AI company Deepnoid announced on the 22nd that its AI-based brain aneurysm detection diagnostic support solution, ‘DEEP:NEURO (Deepneuro),’ has started to be used in medical institutions as a non-reimbursable service under health insurance.
Deepneuro was selected as an innovative medical technology through the integrated review evaluation of innovative medical devices conducted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the Ministry of Health and Welfare last year. Since then, it has been introduced in 17 hospitals nationwide. Following procedures, it was reported to the Korea Health Industry Development Institute and received the actual usage approval notification for 'Innovative Medical Technology Usage Report (Clinical Treatment)'. This is a mandatory process for hospitals using products designated as innovative medical technologies to claim reimbursement or non-reimbursement.
During brain MRA examinations, patients can receive assistance in detecting brain aneurysms through Deepneuro with their consent. Deepnoid charges hospitals on a per-application basis.
Deepneuro is a solution that uses AI to detect brain aneurysms from brain MRA images to assist medical staff in diagnosis. It provides consistent results for brain aneurysms and is expected to help maintain the golden time for cerebrovascular diseases requiring rapid response and treatment by improving the convenience and accuracy of image reading. With the increasing number of patients needing brain aneurysm screening, the MRA screening market is expected to grow further.
A Deepnoid representative said, "We have high expectations as this adds an opportunity for patients to receive the best treatment," and added, "Deepneuro is the first of Deepnoid’s medical AI solutions to receive insurance coverage, and we will expand the business sector capable of generating sales."
