Changwon Special City Attracts Logistics Company Investment Worth 157.2 Billion KRW

Two Logistics Companies Establish Large-Scale Logistics Centers in Busan Port New Port West 'Con' Hinterland Complex

On the 22nd, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam signed an investment agreement with advanced logistics companies LX Pantos New Port Eco Logistics Center and DP World Busan Logistics Center at the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Office meeting room, investing a total of 157.2 billion KRW and hiring 275 local talents.


The signing ceremony was attended by Jang Geum-yong, Changwon First Deputy Mayor, Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, Kim Ki-young, Director of Busanjinhae Free Economic Zone Authority, Noh Seung-hyun, CEO of LX Pantos New Port Eco Logistics Center, and Kim Do-young, CEO of DP World Busan Logistics Center.


LX Pantos New Port Eco Logistics Center is a logistics company established as a consortium between LX Pantos Busan New Port Logistics Center and LG Electronics. It plans to invest about 100 billion KRW by 2026 to build a large-scale logistics center on a 125,720㎡ site within the Seo‘con’ Phase 1 hinterland complex and hire 188 new employees.

In particular, LX Pantos New Port Eco Logistics Center aims to lead high value-added complex logistics through this investment. As the parent company LX Pantos is the largest international logistics company in Korea, specializing in maritime and air transportation with a network spanning over 40 countries, the activation of the new port hinterland complex is highly anticipated.


DP World Busan Logistics Center is a logistics company fully funded and established by the global port operator DP World. It plans to invest about 57.2 billion KRW to build a smart logistics center on a 74,568㎡ site within the Seo‘con’ Phase 1 hinterland complex and hire 87 new employees, with full-scale operations starting in the second half of 2026.


In particular, DP World Busan Logistics Center is making this investment with the goal of establishing a core supply chain hub in the Asia-Pacific region by generating cargo volume through DP World’s global network and providing comprehensive value-added logistics services.


Jang Geum-yong, the First Deputy Mayor, said, “We deeply appreciate that two world-class logistics companies have decided to make large-scale investments in Busan Port New Port, which will become a Northeast Asia logistics hub.” He added, “We hope this investment will enable both companies and the local economy to grow together, and our city will do its utmost to provide administrative support to ensure smooth progress of corporate investments.”
