Handball and Triathlon at the Youth Sports Festival, Goalball, Basketball, and Badminton at the Disabled Students Sports Festival Held
Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 22nd that on the 18th, Deputy Governor Jeong Hyun-gu presided over a meeting in the county office situation room with more than 20 heads of departments and divisions related to the sports festival to check the preparation status for the 53rd National Youth Sports Festival and the 18th Sports Festival for Students with Disabilities.
The 53rd National Youth Sports Festival will be held from the 25th to the 28th of next month, with about 18,000 participants competing in 36 events across 50 venues in 22 cities and counties.

The 18th Sports Festival for Students with Disabilities will take place from the 14th to the 17th of next month, with about 3,600 participants competing in 17 events across 17 venues in 5 cities and counties.
In Muan County, about 1,400 officials and athletes will participate in five events: handball, triathlon, basketball, badminton, and goalball, held at four venues including the Muan Sports Park Gymnasium.
The county is making every effort to prepare for a successful sports festival by implementing measures for traffic, parking, accommodation, and restaurant management, urban aesthetics and environmental maintenance, volunteer recruitment, inspection of sports facilities and accessibility facilities for the disabled, as well as creating a festive atmosphere and promotional plans.
Additionally, to ensure smooth and safe event operations, about 300 personnel will be deployed, including 150 staff members for the event situation room, information desks, and traffic control, and 150 volunteers.
Deputy Governor Jeong Hyun-gu emphasized, “As Muan County, the capital platform of Jeollanam-do, we must focus not only on supporting and managing the competitions but also on restaurant cleanliness, friendliness, eliminating overcharging, and youth participation in cultural events to ensure a successful sports festival.”
