"Today is Earth Day"... HK Innoen 'Healthy Forest, Comfortable Breath' Campaign

HK Innoen announced on April 22 that it conducted a tree planting activity called the "Healthy Forest, Comfortable Breath" campaign with its employees in celebration of Earth Day.

The Healthy Forest, Comfortable Breath campaign involves HK Innoen employees planting trees to create forests. It is an eco-friendly campaign planned to reduce urban fine dust and respond to the climate crisis, which started in 2016 and is regularly operated.

This campaign was carried out through two activities: ▲tree planting (on-site) and ▲seed growing (non-face-to-face). Employees who participated in the on-site tree planting activity held on the 18th planted a total of 100 trees, including Quercus acutissima and Quercus variabilis, at Noeul Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul. These two trees are known for their high carbon absorption capacity.

The non-face-to-face activity involved seed growing. Participants grow acorn seeds in a Jipssitong (a log flowerpot for growing seeds at home) at home or in the office for 100 days and then transplant them to Noeul Park. This is the second year this activity has been conducted following last year.

On the 26th, a "No Plastic Hangang" campaign, a Hangang River cleanup activity with citizens, will be held, including a "plogging" event where participants pick up trash while walking in Banpo Hangang Park. HK Innoen also planned a "Participatory ESG" campaign where employees join ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activities through a mobile application. Employees can practice using stairs, walking, using tumblers, reducing food waste, and by verifying their participation on the participatory mobile app "Haenggarae," they receive points that can be converted into cash or donated.

An HK Innoen official said, "We regularly operate tree planting campaigns involving employees to contribute to creating a sustainable environment," adding, "We plan to carry out various programs so that anyone can easily practice eco-friendly activities in their daily lives."
