Free Rental and Lending of Facilities and Equipment Including Recording Studios, Filming Studios, Cameras, and Lighting
Supporting Live Commerce Filming and Broadcasting, Product Photography, and Various Support Projects
Busan City will continue to support the digital transformation and online business activation of small business owners this year through ‘Sodam Square Busan’.
Sodam Square Busan is a specialized institution supporting real-time broadcast sales (digital commerce), operated through collaboration between the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Small Enterprise and Market Service, Busan City, and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency to enhance the digital commerce capabilities of small business owners.
It provides various facilities and equipment that small business owners find difficult to secure, such as recording studios, filming studios, cameras, and lighting, free of charge for rental and loan. It also promotes various support projects including live commerce filming and broadcasting, product photography support, IPTV advertisement production and broadcasting, online marketing support, and live commerce practical training.
Last year, Sodam Square Busan supported 959 small businesses and SMEs and 2,952 products, with participating companies achieving effects such as increased online promotion and sales performance.
In particular, this year, Sodam Square Busan plans to support overseas market entry for SMEs and small business owners by assisting with entry into overseas online platforms such as Amazon and Qoo10, as well as participation in overseas offline exhibitions.
Additionally, it plans to carry out various support projects such as live commerce filming and broadcasting and offline sales exhibitions linked to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Donghaeng Festival held in May, September, and December, as well as major regional events.
Currently, the support projects for which Sodam Square Busan is recruiting participating companies include the ‘Product Photography Support Project’ for creating detailed product pages and the ‘Live Commerce Support Project’ for promoting excellent products of small business owners and expanding online sales channels. Future plans include support projects such as real-time broadcast sales education and online sales exhibitions.
Both support projects are open to any small business owner in Busan. Application methods can be found through the project announcements on the ‘Sodam Square Busan’ website.
Shin Chang-ho, Director of the Digital Economy Innovation Office of Busan City, said, “By supporting the digital transformation of small business owners through ‘Sodam Square Busan,’ we expect the online sales channels of local small business owners to gradually expand and their digital capabilities to be significantly enhanced.” He added, “Our city will continue to promote various projects to stabilize management and strengthen the self-reliance of small business owners.”
